Earlier this week, our newest Somerset County Public Schools educators came together at Somerset County Technical High School for an engaging evening of professional learning. 🌟
Led by our dedicated New Teacher Mentors, the session focused on student engagement strategies—sharing practical tools and ideas to keep every learner motivated and connected in the classroom.
We’re proud of our new teachers’ commitment to growth and collaboration as they continue to make a positive impact on our students each day!💙🍎
This morning, Princess Anne Elementary School welcomed some very special local veterans for a Veterans Day breakfast and story time with first grade classrooms. 💙❤️ 🤍 Students enjoyed hearing their stories and learning about the meaning of service, courage, and community.
A heartfelt thank-you to all who have served—and to our guests for sharing this meaningful morning with our students!

9th grade U.S. History students in Ms. Ford’s class at Crisfield Academy & High School are taking time this week to honor local veterans through a meaningful Veterans Day interview project.
Each student interviewed a veteran — often a parent, grandparent, family member, friend or neighbor— asking thoughtful questions about their time in service and what life was like during and after their military experience. Students then presented their interview findings in class, reflecting on what they learned and how it shaped their appreciation for those who serve.
Among the stories shared were powerful memories of an inbound Iranian missile warning, crawling under live fire in boot camp, driving supply trucks through dangerous zones, learning to swim at boot camp, jumping from helicopters into the ocean, and witnessing the hardships of war-torn countries. Many veterans also shared concerns about the care and support available to those returning home with physical or mental injuries — and the growing number of homeless veterans.
Thank you to Ms. Ford and her students for this heartfelt project and for helping our community remember and honor the courage and sacrifices of our veterans. ❤️🤍💙
