Happy School Nurses Day! Lynne Brumley is hands down the best school nurse out there. All others dare to compare. From running SADD to initiating mental health campaigns and seat belt compliance checks, Ms. Brumley can be seen helping students and staff with health, nutrition, and general well being. Ms. Brumley is always there to help others. She has a big heart and will do anything to improve the lives of others. We are extremely blessed to have Ms. Brumley at WAHS!

Warm weather is here to stay! Reminder that tank tops for boys and girls are a no go. Shorts need to be finger tip length. Remember, the way you dress speaks to your character and demonstrates a level of self respect.


Come out Saturday, May 11 and support Deputy Morton and the GRIT Program. Our GRIT Program works with young ladies and men to instill the core values of excellence teaching young people to be the best versions of themselves.


Q3 Awards ceremony. Congratulations to our credit, honor and 1 or 2 time principal roll award recipients. 3 time principal roll recipients have an all expense paid trip to Hershey Park on May 30! Go Jags!!!











Getting ready for MCAP State testing at our pep rally Friday. It should not all be about a "test" but this is how we're judged. Results determine academic choices and school wide success. Let's get our minds on our grades and our grades on our minds. Be ready Tuesday and Wednesday. Get rest, eat right, charge your laptop, and just give it 100%. The rest will come!

Career Connections: Students interested in applying for the Youth Apprenticeship Program and Registered Apprenticeship Program with State Highway Administration toured the Somerset County Shop and learned of the benefits of state employment. Thank you to everyone at SHA that took the time to engage and inspire our students. Students in Automotive are taught by Mr. Buddy Ward, students in Welding/HVAC are taught by Mr. Chris Guy






The Girls Gathering GRIT Dinner was a hit! So nice to see our middle and high school ladies out for a dinner and fellowship. Thank you to Ebonie Scarborough for bringing the message to see ourselves from the inside out and not from the outside in and to enjoy youth. Don't rush to grow up and do more of what makes one happy! Stay on top of our studies. What an amazing night at WAHS!











Career Connections: Students from Horticulture program visited Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania to explore species associated with their Certified Professional Horticulturist exam they will take next month. The Horticulture Program is taught by Ms. Theresa Maggio.





Career Connections: Students from the Teacher Academy of Maryland participated in a tour of Salisbury University and the Seidel School of Education, assisted in creating a lesson plan for Pre-K4 and were treated to lunch in The Commons. Thank you Sara Elburn and Salisbury University for helping us grow our teachers of tomorrow for SCPS. Teacher Academy of Maryland is taught by veteran teacher, Mrs. Dawn Lankford.
