Good afternoon Woodson Wave Families, I wanted to share an upcoming change. There will be a change in Assistant Principal Administration at Woodson Elementary beginning this coming Monday, March 13th. Dr. Bell-Jackson will be filling the Concentration of Poverty Coordinator for Somerset County Public Schools. We know she will do an amazing job in her new position and she will be greatly missed at Woodson by the students and staff. We wish her well as she begins this new chapter.
Replacing Dr. Bell-Jackson, will be Mrs. April Schaub, as Assistant Principal to work with the 3rd through 5th grade students here at Woodson. She is a returning Assistant Principal to our school and is familiar with our students, their families and our staff. We are looking forward to her finishing out the 2022-2023 school year with the Woodson Waves.
Buenas tardes familias de Woodson Wave, quería compartirles un próximo cambio. Habrá un cambio en la administración del subdirector en Woodson Elementary a partir del próximo lunes 13 de marzo. La Dra. Bell-Jackson ocupará el cargo de Coordinadora de Enfoque de Pobreza para las Escuelas Públicas del Condado de Somerset. 5th grade students were unable to complete MISA testing today due to technical difficulties. We will now having testing tomorrow, March 10th and Monday, March 13th. Please do your best to have students come to school well rested and ready to try their best. Thank you for all of your support.

5th grade students will be taking the Maryland Integrated Science Assessment on Thursday, March 9th and Friday, March 10th. Please make sure your students get a good night's rest. Please encourage them to take their time on the test and try their best.

This is just a reminder that car rider students should be picked up and dropped off in the car line. Drop off times are 8:35-8:55, pick up times are 3:45-4:05 The front loop should remain open only for buses from 8:15-9, and 3:15-405PM. . This is to ensure the safest possible loading of students, and the safety of our staff, the bus drivers and parents. Call for changes in car or bus transportation should occur prior to 3 pm. Please contact the front office if there is an emergency requiring last minute pick up and they will guide you to the appropriate area.

5th grade Living Wax Museum
We are so excited to share that our awesome music teacher, Mrs. Jones, received a very generous donation to her program from the Somerset County Arts Council that will allow our 4th grade students to attend The Eastern Shore Ballet Theater's production of "Alice In Wonderland". She also received a donation from the Arts Council to assist the band and choir attend their end of year performance. We send a huge thank you to the Somerset County Arts Council for supporting Woodson. Thank you also goes out to Mrs. Jones. We are so fortunate to have you as a Woodson Wave.
