Nominate an scps educator for teacher of the year with a trophy background and the scps logo

Somerset County Public Schools is now accepting nominations for the 2026–2027 School Teacher of the Year program.

Each year, the Teacher of the Year program celebrates outstanding classroom educators who make a lasting impact on students, families, and school communities. Parents, students, colleagues, administrators, and community members are encouraged to nominate teachers who exemplify excellence in teaching, leadership, and dedication to student success.

Before submitting a nomination, nominators are encouraged to review the eligibility criteria, which are posted on the nomination webpage. Eligibility requirements ensure that nominees meet state guidelines for participation in the Maryland Teacher of the Year program.

Nominations may be submitted in one of two ways:

  • Online, using the official nomination form for each school

  • On paper, by requesting a paper nomination form from your school office
