SCPS Superintendent W. David Bromwell to Host Community Forums

WESTOVER, MD — March 12, 2026 — Somerset County Public Schools (SCPS) Superintendent W. David Bromwell will host a series of community forums this April to provide families, staff, and community members with an update on the FY27 operating budget, the school system’s organizational structure, and how the system is aligning its work with the funding and priorities outlined in the Maryland Blueprint for Education.

The forums are designed to give the community an opportunity to learn more about how resources are being allocated to support student learning and to ask questions directly of system leadership.

During the presentations, Superintendent Bromwell will share information about the FY27 budget development process, the current system organizational chart, and how the school system is working to align programs, staffing, and services with Maryland Blueprint funding requirements and priorities.

Community members are invited to attend any of the following sessions:

Greenwood Elementary School
Monday, April 20, 2026 — 5:00 PM

Deal Island Elementary School
Wednesday, April 22, 2026 — 5:00 PM

Carter G. Woodson Elementary School
Thursday, April 23, 2026 — 5:00 PM

All Somerset County Public Schools families, staff members, and community residents are encouraged to attend and participate in this opportunity to learn more about the school system’s priorities and planning for the upcoming fiscal year. The forums are intended to provide a welcoming space for community members to hear directly from the superintendent, ask questions, and engage in a constructive dialogue about the FY27 budget, the system’s organizational structure, and how Somerset County Public Schools is aligning its work with the goals and funding requirements of the Maryland Blueprint for Education.
