November 19, 2025 (Westover, MD) - Somerset County Public Schools (SCPS) is providing an updated announcement regarding upcoming make-up instructional days in the 2025–2026 academic calendar.
On October 16, 2025, SCPS notified families that Monday, November 24 would be converted to a school day as the designated make-up day for the October 13 inclement weather closure, as indicated in the approved Board Academic Calendar.
Last week, SCPS also advised the community to prepare for school to be in session on Tuesday, November 25 to recover instructional time lost during the October 31 closure, and its dismissal schedule was pending Board of Education action at the upcoming November 18, 2025 Regular Open Meeting.
At the November 18, 2025 Board of Education meeting, the Board approved November 25, 2025, as a make-up instructional day operating on an early dismissal schedule, while November 24, 2025, remains a previously designated make-up day under the Board-approved calendar.
