October 27, 2025 (Westover, MD) - The Somerset County Board of Education and Superintendent Dr. Ava Tasker-Mitchell have mutually agreed that Dr. Tasker-Mitchell will step down from her position as Superintendent of Somerset County Public Schools, effective Friday, October 31, 2025.
Dr. Tasker-Mitchell thanks the schools for the opportunity and the Board of Education thanks Dr. Tasker-Mitchell.
