THE NEW J.M. TAWES TECHNOLOGY & CAREER CENTER 

 

Sealed Proposals for this project shall be accepted by Somerset County Board of Education, 7982A Tawes Campus Drive, Westover, Maryland 21871 until 2:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, January 10, 2019.

 

The Scope of Work under this contract includes all plant, labor, materials, tools, equipment, superintendence, transportation for the equipment to support the new J. M. Tawes Technology and Career Center (JMTTCC) scheduled to open for instruction in the 2019/2020 academic year. In general the scope of work includes, but is not limited to, complete collection of Equipment to support the programs at JMTTCC.

 

A pre-proposal meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Somerset County Board of Education Office – Conference Room A – 7982A Tawes Campus Drive, Westover, Maryland 21871.

 

Contractors are encouraged to carefully review the drawings and RFP documents to fully understand the full scope of the work.  Contractors are encouraged to visit the site(s) but may do so by appointment only by contacting, Daniele Haley, Supervisor of Facilities & Capital Planning via e-mail at dhaley@somerset.k12.md.us 

 

General Submission Instructions:
 The proposal package must be received no later than 2:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, January 10, 2019.  One copy of the sealed bid shall be submitted via hand delivery or mail to:

The Scope of Work under this contract includes all plant, labor, materials, tools, equipment, superintendence, transportation and performing all work in strict accordance with the Specifications for description of work.

The Facilities Division is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the ten Somerset County Public School buildings as well as the Central Office and Maintenance buildings. The goals of the Somerset County Public Schools Facilities Division are:

  1. To provide buildings that function at top efficiency.
  2. To provide buildings that are safe, sanitary, properly equipped, lighted, ventilated and aesthetically suited to promoting the goals of the schools.
  3. To maintain the plant, buildings and grounds and fixed equipment in such a manner as to eliminate or reduce; fires, accidents, and safety hazards.
  4. To provide continuous use of facilities without disruptions to the educational program.
  5. To protect public property by planned and scheduled repair or maintenance.
  6. To conserve energy by insuring that the maximum results are obtained with minimum expenditure of energy and human resources.
