IMPORTANT ADULTJOB SKILLS PROGRAM TO BEGIN

Energy Manager George Todd writes, ​​"We have just completed the 93rd month of our energy saving program. During the period April 2008 through December 2015, our schools have saved a total of $2,635,130 or 31.3% in cost avoidance. Click on the title for more information.

Parents and community members are urged to complete the FY 2017 budget survey. It will be posted until January 15. Hard copies can be obtained at school offices throughout the county and at the central office. Click on the title and on the link to complete the survey. Thank you for your input.

SCPS Director of Schools Tracie Bartemy was interviewed by the staff at Comcast pertaining to the historical immersion camp held this summer at Teakle Mansion and surrounding areas in Princess Anne for several students. This was partially funded by the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore and made possible by Ms. Bartemy's leadership, the work of a number of educators and members of various historical groups. Library Director Gail Sheldon accepts the donation of two iPads from Marlena Turner of the Judy Center. The Judy Center works to help ensure that young children in Somerset County enter school with the readiness skills they need to succeed in school. “Our library is an important asset to our local community and they are a great supporter of school readiness! We hope families will enjoy learning together with this fun technology”, said Karen Karten, Judy Center Coordinator.
The iPads have been loaded with all sorts of fun apps for children and parents to use together. The iPads will be available for use only inside the library. Grown-ups - please bring your library card and a valid driver’s license for in library use.
