IMPORTANT BUDGET MEETINGS-     On May 29 at 9 AM there will be a special Board of Education meeting to submit the superintendent's proposed budget. We will review the budget and have about a 20 minute meeting. On June 27 at 9 AM the Board will meet again in an open meeting to adopt the budget for the year.

Twenty-Year Veteran, Tracie Bartemy, named Director of Schools

– On September 15, 2015, at its monthly meeting, the Somerset County Board of Education named veteran educator Tracie Bartemy Director of Schools. She will serve with the Superintendent’s leadership group and executive team having leadership responsibility for organizing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating the total curriculum and instruction program, Pre-Kindergarten through grade twelve. Particular emphasis shall be on the articulation of the program between the elementary, intermediate and secondary schools.

Student Board Representatives from WAHS and CAHS Join the Board of Education

On Tuesday September 15, 2015, at the monthly Board of Education meeting, four Somerset students were named as representatives and alternate representatives to the Somerset County Public Schools Board of Education for the 2015-2016 school year. They will report on school events within the county, provide opinions on topics when questioned by Board members and assist with information as designated.

2015-2016 SCPS' Bus Routes Announced

The Somerset County Board of Education has announced that all schools will open for students on Monday, August 24, 2015. Regarding bus routes, adjustments may have to be made after the opening of school because of overloading, safety and efficiency. Pupils are urged to be at their bus stop early on opening day, after which a definite scheduling pattern will be established. Parents-The School System Needs Your Assistance! Complete and Return attached Form

Somerset County Public Schools applies for a number of Federal Grants each year. Applying for grants requires us to provide information on the income status of our community. This is done by compiling information on all families on the attached form. The individual forms will be filed at the Board Office and not used for any other purpose. All SCPS families please click on the title above and then click on the PDF file. The file contains a letter of explanation, a Data Collection for Grant Applications form and an explanation form. Read the PDF file. Complete the second attached form which is a Word document and return to your student's school or email the completed form to Write Grant Data Form in the subject section of the email. Only complete one form per household. Thank you.
