High School Students Attend Leadership Luncheon

Many student leaders in local high schools belong to the Southern Eastern Shore Association of Student Councils (SESASC). This organization is student run and focuses on developing leadership and service in our communities. Student leaders from Worcester, Wicomico and Somerset Counties unite to develop skills and to work on numerous projects to help local communities and groups.

Greenwood Elementary School Wins Banner Contest Promoting Reading

Greenwood Elementary School is the winner of the Delmarva Shorebirds and the Brace Place Hit the Books Banner Contest. Director of Community Relations and Promotions for the Shorebirds Eric Sichau wrote, "I will be in touch with you to set up a special appearance to congratulate the students and staff for a fantastic design!"

Deal Island Teacher to be Honored as one of Maryland's Top Teachers

On October 7, 2016, Deal Island Elementary School teacher Kolby Noble will be honored with her colleagues from across the state as one of 24 local Teachers of the Year at the annual Maryland Teacher of the Year Gala held at Martin's West in Baltimore. She will be accompanied by family, colleagues, Board members and school system leaders. Over 1200 people will be in attendance. Educational , business and political leaders will be on hand to recognized Mrs. Noble and her colleagues for helping to make Maryland's educational system one of the best in the nation.
