Somerset County Public Schools Registration for Pre- Kindergarten and Kindergarten

Kindergarten is a full day program and is not optional. All children who turn five (5) by September 1, 2016 must register for kindergarten. Children who will be four (4) by September 1, 2016 are eligible and encouraged to participate in Pre-kindergarten.  This FREE program is designed to give children that extra boost and get them ready for kindergarten learning. This year, Somerset County will have a limited number of Full Day Pre-kindergarten slots. In order to be eligible for one of these full day slots parents will need to provide information on household income (Paystub, TCA, Medical Assistance, Food Stamps verification). If a full day slot is desired, this documentation should be provided at the time of registration. Registration forms will be available at local elementary schools and online and completed forms should be returned to the school, beginning March 29, 2016. Several registration events will take place throughout the county as well. This includes a PK Registration Kick-Off event at each of our elementary Schools.

Dinner and school materials will be provided at all Kick-Off Events!

Greenwood Elementary School: March 29th 5:30-7:00

Princess Anne Elementary School: March 30th 5:30-700

Woodson Elementary School: March 31st 5:00- 6:30

Families can call the Somerset County Judy Center Partnership at 410-651-1275 to RSVP to one of these Pre-K Registration Kick-Off Events.

Families are encouraged to enroll children early to ensure a spot in Pre-kindergarten and to help ensure early classroom/teacher assignments. All applications should be completed and returned by June 15th.

Parents wishing to register their child must take the child’s birth certificate, immunization record, social security card and proof of residency which could include utility bills, a lease or rental agreement, IRS document, property tax document, documentation verified by receiving principal, proof of mortgage or notarized affidavit of disclosure. No driver’s license or phone bill will be accepted. Registrations are not complete without these documents.
