A supervising nurse will teach you basic housekeeping, cooking, and safety techniques, in addition to providing lessons in professionalism. The personal care aspect of your training will include fall prevention, nutrition, disease management, vital sign checking, and management of medication. Additional topics to be covered are: Orientation to home care; managing the home environment; home care procedures; meeting the clients’ special needs, and professional skills. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded once assignments are successfully completed. The class is 42 hours long and concludes with a two hour examination. The way the program works is simple. Obtain an application by downloading it from the J.M. Tawes website or the Somerset County Public Schools Adult Education Website. Complete the application and register for the class at Princess Anne One Stop & Marion School, on March 1st or 2nd from 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Space is limited to fifteen students.
