Children Honor the Legacy of their Parents-Gifts Presented to the School System


Mr. Catlin served for several years as the Supervisor of Maintenance for the school system and Jeannette Catlin served for forty-five years as a teacher and a teacher substitute. Their son and daughter have graciously donated two significant items to the school system in honor of their parents. Ms. Catlin taught second grade during her career even teaching at the historical Fairmount Academy. She was a musician, playing the piano at home, at church and at school. Mr. McIntyre and Mr. Catlin have donated their mother’s piano to the music program at Carter G. Woodson Elementary School. In honor of their father, they have donated a state-of –the-art planer to the construction program at J.M. Tawes Technology and Career Center. Richard Catlin serves in the State’s Attorney office in Wicomico County and Janet McIntyre is a clinical social worker having worked in Wicomico County Public Schools and now in Dorchester County Public Schools.
