Our
Goals
The Goal of the library media
program is designed to assist students to become active and creative
consumers of information for their academic years and beyond.
 | Each school will have an organized
and managed collection of materials and equipment including current and emerging
technologies. |
 | Each school library media program
will provide access to information resources within and beyond the school. |
 | The school library media professional
will participate in the development and implementation of all educational
programs and instruct the students, in information literacy skills including
library research and study skills which have been integrated into other areas
of the curriculum. |
 | Support classroom instruction through
follow up activities and selection of materials to meet the core knowledge
and high school core learning goals. In addition to coordination the
acquisition and circulation of all information including printed materials,
hardware and software, production equipment and adaptive resources for students
and others with special needs. |
 | Create and maintain an atmosphere
that encourages information literacy, independent personal growth and lifelong
learning. |
 | Each school will provide a designated
area for library media services that promote and support student learning,
which includes areas for the following activities: study/research, reading,
instruction, production/group projects and administration. |
 | The library media staff participates
in ongoing professional development through inservice programs and/or college
level courses. |
