ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY

HEAD CROSS COUNTRY AND GOLF COACH ES

WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL

July 19, 2002


SALARY: As specified by Somerset County Public Schools

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Demonstrate ability to organize and manage all aspects of the program.
  2. Must have completed basic athletic training courses or equivalency.
  3. Ability to relate well to students and move the program forward in a positive and productive manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Understand and cooperate with the rules and regulations set forth by the MPSSAA, Bayside Conference, and Somerset County.
  2. Keep abreast of the academic performance of each squad member by maintaining a channel of communication with each of the player's teachers and the guidance department.
  3. Inform team members, establish and enforce guidelines pertaining to conduct, school rules, training rules, safety regulations and sportsmanship at all contests and practices.
  4. Maintain accurate records and provide all necessary reports to the appropriate personnel (eg: principal, athletic director, or guidance counselor) on or before the established deadlines.
  5. Provide supervision at all practices and athletic contests, and report to these events in a prompt and consistent manner.
  6. Attend appropriate meetings pertaining to cross country and/or golf (eg: rules interpretation clinics, district meetings, and/or coaches' meetings).
  7. Distribute and collect the schools athletic equipment before, during and after season, as well being responsible for equipment used during all practices and athletic contests.
  8. Conduct oneself in a manner that is conducive to good sportsmanship and representation of the school and school system.
