AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM YOUTH MENTOR

SEPTERMBER 4, 2002

 Salary:  $8/hour

 SUMMARY OF DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION:

An employee in this position under the supervision of the Site Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the day to day operation of the After School Program.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

A.     Educational Requirements – A high school diploma or currently enrolled

B.      Training and Experience Requirements – Six month in school age Child Care - First Aid/CPR – Child Abuse and Neglect (2 clock hours)  Minimum age 16.

C.     Continuing Education – 24 hours annually

 DUTIES: Job Responsibilities (Under the supervision and direction of the Site Coordinator)

1.       Supervise students.

2.       Maintain physical environment.

3.       Participate in activities.

4.       Assist in snack preparation.

5.       Interact positively with students.

6.       Comply with all health and safety standards.

7.       Model positive behaviors and problem solving skills.

8.       Attend all required staff trainings/meetings.
