AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM ASSISTANT
SEPTERMBER 4, 2002
Salary: $10/hour - $12/hour (based on experience)
SUMMARY OF DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION:
An employee in this position under the supervision of the Site Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the day to day operation of the After School Program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Educational Requirements A high school diploma and 45 clock hours in school age Child Care.
B. Training and Experience Requirements One year in after school programs - First Aid/CPR Child Abuse and Neglect (2 clock hours) Minimum age 18.
C. Continuing Education 24 hours annually
DUTIES: Job Responsibilities (Under the direction of the Site Coordinator)
1. Assist in the planning and preparation of activities.
2. Conduct activities with children individually, in small groups and in large groups.
3. Assist in record keeping.
4. Provide adequate supervision of students at all times.
5. Maintain the physical environment.
6. Assist in snack preparation.
7. Model positive behaviors and problem solving skills.
8. Comply with all health and safety standards.
9. Attend all required staff trainings/meetings.
