 for the Maryland State Department of Education

MGT of America, Inc., presents this Final Report of a three-year study mandated by the Maryland General Assembly to assess certain outcomes of the Bridge to Excellence in Public Schools Act of 2002 (BTE). In the fall of 2005, the Maryland State Department of Education solicited proposals from qualified organizations to conduct this independent evaluation and selected MGT through a competitive process. MGT issued an Initial Report after the first year of its evaluation and an Interim Report after the second year.1 This Final Report builds upon and supplements the information presented in the earlier reports.

Management & Performance Report of Somerset County Public Schools in 2002

On December 27, 2002, the state of Maryland contracted with MGT of America, Inc., to conduct a Management and Performance Audit of Somerset County Public Schools. The study focused on reviewing the financial, organizational, and operational effectiveness of Somerset County Public Schools. MGT gathered relevant data and made recommendations on areas such as the appropriateness and effectiveness of existing organizational structures, appropriate staffing levels, and effectiveness of the instructional programs. MGT also conducted a review of options related to consolidation.
